

Portland-Reginald K. Page, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2012. The son of Ralph and Mary (Byrnes) Page, he was born in Easton, Maine on June 17, 1923. He attended Easton schools, and went on to Aroostook State Teachers College and the University of Maine. While in Germany during WWII, he guarded trains for the United Nations Relief Association and was later awarded for his service by the U.N. He also studied at the Agricultural and Technical Institute in Freising Germany. While working as a welder on Liberty ships at the South Portland Shipyard, he met the love of his life, Phyllis Mansur, also a welder. They wed and were married for 64 years. They raised their family in Portland where he worked the majority of his career for W.L. Blake & Co. He spent his retirement years enjoying his family, gardening and painting. His life revolved around his family. He was truly a selfless man with a wonderful sense of humor and an easy going personality. He was an optimist, an artist and a philosopher who saw beauty in the simplest of things. He was predeceased by seven brothers and four sisters, an infant daughter Beth Ann, and his granddaughter, Megan Mansur Page. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, a son Stephen Page, and his wife Linda, of Alfred, four daughters, Vicki Roak, and her husband Leigh, of Portland, Suzanne Gannon, and her husband James, of Cape Elizabeth, Deborah Wilson, and her fiancée Anthony Connors, of Gorham, and Julie Ricker, and her husband Nathan, of Hampden, twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 3:00 -7:00 PM at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 9:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 673 Stevens Ave., Portland. Interment will be in the Spring.
