

Originally from Falmouth Robert was a natural born athlete becoming a stellar basketball player on his school teams. He also proved a fierce competitor on the racquetball court earning many championship trophies. Robert loved the ocean working as a lobsterman during his high school years. His love of the seacoast included boating, deep sea fishing and a great fondness for seafood.
Following graduation from Falmouth High School, Robert attended Casco Bay College where he studied business. After college Robert joined his father in the family firm, M. A. Storck, Company, Inc. where he managed wholesale distribution. As part owner Robert also handled the company’s advertising and specialized in precious metals sales.
An outdoorsman by nature Robert was an active member of the Venerable Cunner Association and Propellor Club. Robert was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He shared his love of the outdoors with his son, Alexander, whom Robert always said was his greatest joy. Together they enjoyed four-wheeling in the woods, boating and driving around to nowhere in particular.
Robert was predeceased by his brother, Derek James Simmons of Portland, in 2005.
He is survived by his parents, his son Alexander, his companion Shandale Phillips and her daughter Katie, his sister and brother-in-law Janice (Simmons) and David White and their sons Graeme and Ethan of Marlborough, Massachusetts, his maternal grandmother Emma Deering of Portland, his nephew Joseph Heatley of Westbrook, his uncle and godfather Norman and wife Billie Jean Simmons of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his Aunt Helen (Simmons) and husband James Lackore of Madison, Wisconsin and his beloved godmother Alice Abbott of Portland, Maine.
