Throughout his life, Sagel brought warmth, humor and a deep sense of loyalty to all who knew him.
Friendship was at the heart of Sagel’s world. He cherished the bonds he formed from a young age and nurtured them with unwavering dedication. His ability to accept people as they were – flaws and all – made him a beloved presence in many lives. Those fortunate enough to call him a friend knew they had someone who would stand by them through anything.
Sagel had a profound love for music, both listening and playing the piano, and found joy in attending concerts, where he could immerse himself in the energy of live performance. His appreciation for sound and rhythm was matched by his talent in the kitchen; he was a great cook who delighted in preparing meals and sharing them with others. Whether it was a simple dish or something more elaborate, Sagel cooked with heart.
He inherited the farmer’s spirit from both sides of his family – a legacy that showed not only in his work ethic but also in his deep connection to the land. He especially loved spending time on the Miller family farm in Rockport, where he felt grounded and at peace. After a day on the farm, Sagel would often sit with his Grammy Pat to watch Jeopardy.
Skilled with machinery and always ready to fix what needed fixing – including his trusty Volvo. Sagel lived by the moto “use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.” It was a philosophy that reflected his resourcefulness and respect for simplicity.
Sagel adored his cats and found comfort and companionship in their presence. His love extended deeply to those closest to him – his mom and dad, Bethany and Alan Prosser; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Miller; his girlfriend, Brenna; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
