

Portland-Thelma Marie Bogart, 83 passed away Tuesday May 24, 2011. She was born in Portland Dec. 17, 1927. The daughter of Oscar and Mabel (Foss) Small. She was raised in Portland by her Foster Parents, Carl and Pamela Davis. She attended schools here and graduated from Deering High School in 1947.
At the age of 21 she moved to Brooklyn, NY where she later met and married James Bogart, Sr. on Oct. 21, 1950. They had resided in New York for several years before returning to Portland. Besides raising her family Thelma had volunteered at the Longfellow School for several years.
She is predeceased by her parents and Foster Parents.
Thelma is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Bogart Sr. of Portland, her two sons and their spouses, John and Margaret Bogart of Saco, James Jr. and Candace Bogart of So. Portland; her two daughters and their spouses, JoAnn and D.Andrew Brann of Coplin Plantation and Kathy and David Booth of Portland; her ten grandchildren, Christy, Beth, Becky, David Jr. Andrew, Susan, Jamie, Lindsay, John Jr. and April . Also surviving are nine great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Saturday May 28, 2011 from 11:00 to 12:00 at Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
