

Tom was a 1984 graduate of Westbrook High School. In High School, Tom’s passion was playing varsity soccer and varsity baseball. He then went on to attend University of Southern Maine, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. While attending USM, Tom pledged Sigma Nu Fraternity and became a fraternity brother. Later, Tom became the President of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
After college, Tom followed his other passion, which was the desire to serve his community and protect individuals; that is why he decided to dedicate himself to being a Police Officer. Officer Haskell served with the Cumberland County Jail, then served with the Westbrook Police Department from 1998 to 2010. Officer Haskell completed his career by working with the University of Southern Maine Police Department from 2010 to 2025. Officer Haskell retired in August of 2025 after many years of service as a Police Officer.
In his leisure time, Tom enjoyed going to camp at Ward’s Cove on Sebago and spending time with friends and family. He especially enjoyed fishing, water skiing, and most of all, just being able to jump off the wall into the water and swim.
Tom will be deeply missed by his loving parents, children, sister, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as the countless friends, colleagues, and other people whose lives he touched. His passion for life and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Thomas Nathaniel Haskell’s life was a beacon of dedication, passion, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of service and a memory cherished deeply by all who knew him. His extraordinary spirit and commitment will forever be remembered and honored.
Tom is survived by his loving children: Jessica Haskell, Madison Haskell, and Mitchell Haskell; His Father and Mother, David and Patricia Haskell; Sister, Kristen (Haskell) Beahm; Nephews, James D. Beahm and his wife, Hayley, Christopher Beahm and his wife, Colleen; Great-Nieces and Nephews, Stella, Levi, and James; Aunts and Uncles, Robert and Anne Haskell, James and Jane Farrell, and many cousins.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 12 PM to 1 PM at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home ,199 Woodford St., Portland, ME, with a Funeral Service from 1 PM to 2 PM at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home. A Burial will follow at 2 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook, ME.
