New Gloucester, ME- Virginia Ruth Lawless, 65, of Jack Hall Road, passed away on December 10, 2018 in Auburn, ME following a brief illness. She was born in Portland, a daughter John Jr. and Ruth A. (Kenney) Killinger. Virginia attended Portland schools and graduated from Deering High School in 1971.
She later married Dale Lawless and they began raising a family.
Virginia worked for Adams & Fogg for 17 years where she felt like part of their family. Some of her fondest memories include a trip to the New York World Fair and watching her children and grandchildren grow.
She enjoyed all family functions, especially cookouts and loved vacationing, crafting and getaways with her husband.
She was pre-deceased by her mother and a brother in law, Steven Lowell.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Dale P. Lawless; children, Angelia Paige and her husband James, Doug Athearn, Amy Maheux and Jodie Whiteside and husband Brian; siblings, Leo Killinger and his wife Tish, Rosie Wyman and Denise Lowell. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Friends and relatives are invited to a time of visitation from 1-4 pm on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Jones Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland, where a funeral will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 17, 2018. Burial will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland.
