

Adolf Heinrich Seggert, passed away on January 9, 2014. Adolf was born in Ochtrup, Münsterland Germany, on January 4, 1934 to Josef and Alwina Seggert. At age seventeen, he came to America as an exchange student in Marlin, Washington. During that time he earned letters in multiple sports and took second in the state tennis championship. Upon returning to Germany, he earned a degree in Textile Engineering and played professional soccer for Borussia Mönchengladbach. He then attended graduate school in Norway.
In 1956 he came to America and began working at Janzen Knitting Mills in Portland, Oregon as the plant manager. He enlisted in the US Army Reserves where he qualified as a sharpshooter. He met Rosemary Dwyer while skiing on Mt. Hood, and they were married in September of 1959. In 1972 he started Seggert International Incorporated: a textile machinery sales agency.
He is survived by his wife Rosemary, daughter Gabrielle Christine Lofquist, son Michael Joseph Seggert, grandson Ian Hopping, great-grandson Korbin Hopping of Oregon, and sister Ursula Bolleret of Selm-Bork, Germany.
