On July 13, 1991, Alex was born in Silver Spring, Maryland to his parents, Jerry James Buckner and Tamara Reed. When his father was required to relocate for work, he was quick to follow. He found his home in Portland, Oregon.
For most of his life, Alex was a teacher. He was passionate about advocating for young people and creating a safe environment for them at school. He was especially passionate about supporting homeless youth that he came across. He fought against discrimination and ensured that all children he came across had a safe place with him.
Although Alex enjoyed teaching, his main passion was acting. He truly found his happiness when he was on a stage. He found a community in Portland and he continued to pursue his acting career. He was very active with a local theatre company in the area and he found joy in spending time with others who were also passionate about acting. Being in the theatre was truly his calling.
Alexander is survived by his parents, Jerry James Buckner and Tamara Reed, his brother, William Buckner, and his nephew, Jerry Buckner.
Alexander James Buckner will be missed by all. His family welcomes everyone to join them for a memorial service at the Funhouse Lounge on Saturday, August 5th from 3pm-5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Funhouse Lounge in Portland, OR.
