Alice Louise Campbell

Alice “Louise” Campbell, age 96, of Portland, Oregon passed away on Wednesday July 31, 2019. Louise was born June 8, 1923 to Floyd and Mevlina Bradley in Dodge City Kansas. Louise was one of three children, in the 1930’s the Bradley’s moved to Portland when her father got a job here. She graduated from Girls’ Polytechnic High school.

Louise married Winston L. Brobst and had three children, Gary, Don and Beverly. Later they divorced and she married William “Bill” J. Campbell. She met Bill at the Six Point Bar in St. Johns, and they honey mooned in the beautiful Butchart Gardens of Victoria, British Columbia. Bill and Louise later completed their family with their youngest child, Tammie.

On any given day you could find Louise bowling at Jantzen Beach or Timber Lanes in one of her bowling leagues that she was part of for many years. Or crocheting blankets or doll dresses, making a different color dress for everyone in the family. Louise loved to stay busy reading a good book, especially Stephen King. She enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles, bent & wiggly word searches being a favorite. Louise worked at Western Auto for over 25 years and spent some years working part-time at Montgomery Wards. A good joke was in Louise’ daily schedule, she had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughter.

Louise is preceded in death by her husband William “Bill Campbell; and son Gary Dean Brobst.

Survived by her brother Gene Hutchinson; three children, Don Brobst, Beverly Wentworth and Tammie Campbell; grandkids, Jeff, Scott, Cindy, Ricky, Carri, Kacie, Chad, Annette, Michelle and David; great-grandkids, Shawn, Eric, Tiffany, Realea, Cameron, Kiley, Allison, Karyssa, Joshua, Anne Autumn, Emma, Shane, Hali, Jacob, Will, Noah, Ann Marie Brittney and Gage; great-great-grandkids, Carson, McKinley, Brayden, Eric and Tripton.
