Allen Glein Johnson, 88, of Happy Valley, Oregon passed away peacefully in his home on March 16, 2020. He was born in Tacoma, Washington on June 6, 1931, to Albert Calvin Johnson & Palma Pauline (Glein) Johnson. Allen graduated from Lincoln High School. He was attending University of Puget Sound when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He married Martha W. Presba on February 5, l952, and enjoyed 68 wonderful years together. He served with the 811th Engineer Aviation Battalion – SCARWAF- US Army in Korea.
He enjoyed a long career in telecommunications for Western Electric, Pacific NW Bell, US West and Intermedia Communications. He worked for ISI for his last 15 years. He received many special recognitions for his exemplary service throughout his career including his work on the Defense Projects, Defense Activities Division, through Western Electric Company, Inc. on projects involving world-wide communications, control and warning systems undertaken for the United States Government. He was a member of Clackamas Bible Church and had a passion for his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, his family, fishing, hunting, building and helping people. He easily made friends everywhere he went and kept in touch with many up until recent days.
He was survived by his wife, Martha; children Diane (Rob) Snelling, Dan (Donna) Johnson, Becky (Jim) Byrne, Karen (Brian) Kuepper along with Grandchildren Jennifer (Ernie) Framo, Tim (Emily) Snelling, Alane (Billy) Beckes, Christine (Ken) Houston; Elizabeth (Kyle) Brush, Daniel (Shelby) Johnson, Kaitlin (Jeb) Ball, Andrew (Jessie) Johnson; Rachel (Adrian) Lundquist, Martha (Jeff) Van Houten; Hannah (Steve) Ferrell, Chelsea Kuepper, Heather (Sean) Diamond, Matt (Hannah) Kuepper; and eighteen great grandchildren. Allen was predeceased by daughter, Annette Johnson and grandson, Hal Kuepper.
Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to Trout Creek Bible Camp (tcbc.com).
