

Alvin Lewis Hardaway passed away on August 17, 2026, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 68. Al was born on October 15, 1957, in San Antonio, Texas, to Mable Mills and Quinton B. Hardaway. He was raised in San Antonio. Al proudly served in the United States Army from 1978 to 1998, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service to his country.
Al was full of life and always brought energy and laughter with him. He had a deep love for music. It brought him joy and provided a special way for him to connect with the people and moments that mattered most. He also enjoyed DJing and sharing that love of music with others.
Al will be remembered and deeply missed by his loving fiancée, Lynne Monroe; and her children, David and Keith; his sons, Andrew Hardaway and Gregory Wilson; his brother, Quinton B. Hardaway Jr.; his sister, Dorris Dykes; his brother-in-law, Ray Dykes; his grandson, Cooper Wilson; and his granddaughter, Cora Wilson.
Al’s life was marked by service, family, music, and the simple joys that made life meaningful. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Al will be laid to rest with full Military Honors at Willamette National Cemetery.
