

Anita was raised in North Bend, Oregon, and graduated from high school there in 1951. After some time away, she returned to Oregon in 1956 and started her family, eventually raising four children as a devoted single mother.
Mrs. Sizer worked as a nurse in various places in Portland during her career, but mainly in nursing homes, retiring at age 75. She was involved in Girl Scout leadership, enjoyed her dogs, and collected salt and pepper shakers and items in the shape of pigs. She also knitted hats for children, including while working as a pediatric nurse, as well as handmade Raggedy Ann dolls. She was a member of Portland Mennonite Church.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Dale and her daughter Judy.
She will be missed and remembered by her children, Nancy Doyle and husband Paul, Karen Nussbaum, and Dale Hurley; brothers David and Gary, grandchildren D.J., Charity, Nicole, and Dale; and five great-grandchildren.
Anita’s life will be celebrated in services at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland, with a funeral service scheduled for 12 pm on Thursday, April 30 to be followed by a 1 pm committal service in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
