Ann Carol Thompson passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children on July 5, 2020 in Lake Oswego at age 90. She was born in Steven’s Point, WI July 8, 1929 to Erling and Esther Hegg. She excelled as a student and graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in English. There she met her husband Jack Thompson. In 1952 they moved to Portland where they lived until Jack died in 2005. Shortly thereafter she moved to Mary’s Woods in Lake Oswego. Ann taught at Whitford Junior High in the 60s. She was an avid reader and belonged to book clubs for many years. She loved world travel, fashion, decorating and the many wonderful friends she had in life. She always enjoyed a good party with family and friends. Ann is survived by her children Karen (Randall Sammons), Jan Pileggi (Michael), Heidi (John Lehnus) and William (Naoko). She is also survived by her grandchildren Casey, Nicholas, Kai and Saaya, and great grandchildren Alanya, Easton and Evelyn. She was predeceased by her brothers William and James Hegg. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Oregon, the Sjogren’s Foundation or to Brighton Hospice. There will be a private interment.
