Anna Snajdr Hasle passed away at home on March 10 2026, following an illness. Ever steadfast, she went out on her own terms: family at her side, listening to jazz, and watching the birds out the window.
Born in London on February 8, 1944, she graduated from Oxford University and moved to the US for medical school at Yale. She had a meaningful career as a radiologist, and kept a busy life of extracurriculars. She summited peaks, ran marathons, kayaked NW rivers, and became a pilot, all with quiet determination, discipline and humility. A gourmet cook and avid gardener, she loved dogs, nature, watching sports, completing NYT crosswords, and her family.
Anna is survived by her devoted husband Fred, sister Jacqui Oldham (Geoff), children Annabel Toren, Nick Toren (Elise) and Peter Gail (Elle), grandchildren Dillon George, Jackson George, Tyler George, Jude Toren, Neve Toren, Charles Gail, and Emery Gail, as well as Fred’s children Michele (Nate Wasik) and Chris (Kim) and grandchildren Signe Hasle-Wasik, Lucy, Olivia and Isabel Hasle.
Her wish would be that in lieu of flowers, the gift of support for dogs be made to the Oregon Humane Society.
