

Dr. Anthony "Tony" Palermini was born on August 24th 1933 to John and Rosa (D'Antonio) Palermini in Portland, Oregon. He attended Grade School at Sacred Heart Elementary, then moved on to Central Catholic High School and college at University of Portland. He received his Doctorate of Education from University of Oregon in 1971. Tony joined ROTC while attending UofP. Tony married the love of his life Jeanne Marie Rouseau on December 26, 1953 and were together for 55 years until she preceded him in death. Tony joined the Air Force and became a pilot in 1955. He and Jeanne were stationed at Biggs AFB in El Paso TX. After leaving the Air Force Tony decided he wanted to be a teacher and started at his first Elementary school, Menlo Park Elementary, in the David Douglas School district. He held many positions in his long history with David Douglas. Teacher, Counselor at Floyd Light Middle School, Principal at North Powellhurst , Personnel Director, Assistant Superintendent and finished out his career as the Superintendent of the school district for 15 years. Tony was an avid golfer and in later years tried to hit the links every day! Tony was loved by many for his generous spirit and wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by three children, Marisa Hasson (Jeff), Monica Butler and Stephen Palermini. Three grandchildren, Rachelle Barrett (Kevin), Mark Bendel (Rebecca), and Matthew Bendel (Andreana) and 7 great grandchildren who adored their Papa. He was predeceased by his loving wife Jeanne Marie and son in law Randy Butler. Rest in Peace! You are gone from our sight, but never from our hearts!
