

Art Adler passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2012, at the age of 67. He was born Arthur John Alschuler to Alfred and Helene Alschuler in Chicage, IL, on December 30, 1944. He grew up in Highland Park, IL, and graduated from Brandeis University. His most favorite activities involved the outdoors from early years at Camp Thunderbird which included canoeing and camping to his ongoing love of tennis. After working with his father as a tennis planning consultant he discovered his talent in carpentry and spent many years doing outstanding work on his clients homes. After many years in the San Francisco Bay Area he met and married Vicki Earle in 1990. After a visit to Portland on vacation both decided it provided an opportunity to buy and work on their own home as well as enjoying Oregon's many outdoor activities. He lived in Portland for 20 years canoeing the Sandy River, playing tennis with friends, working on the home he shared with his wife, and playing with his beloved dog, Pepper.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki, brother, Larry, sister, Aryn, nieces Lise, Britt, Elena, and Zoe, and nephew, Alfie.
