First and foremost, thank you to all in attendance and the overwhelming love and support our family has received during this time. Know that the McKedy family thanks each and everyone of you.

My mother Barbara McKedy was always the Matriarch. She was the oldest of three and the big sister for my late Aunt Jan and my Uncle Bruce who is here today, they had lean times, but made due through hard work and staying together as a family. As many of you know my mother liked to have a handle on what was going on in her life as well as the lives everyone around her. She loved to tell you what she thought and how you were screwing it up, but with her own tough love mixed in. Uncle Bruce knows what I mean, he has been at the epicenter of her life for 71 years and without his love and support she would not have had the peace and comfort needed in her last times on Earth, so thank you Uncle for all that you have endured and done for your sister, we love you!

My mother was a warm, compassionate and vibrant woman! She would go out her way to help others-no matter what! She was proud and strong willed, with a great passion to provide for her family and friends. That is shown her today by all the wonderful people that cared about my mom.

We hear the words grit, perseverance and accountability all the time. Barb McKedy personified those traits. She never had it easy, growing up wasn’t easy, married life wasn’t easy, caring for a disabled husband not easy and raising two McKedy boys definitely not easy! The one thing she did every day was get up and kept pounding forward. She exemplified what it means to have grit, she instilled that in her family. Raising Scott and I was a true act of perseverance! Dealing with our competitive and often combative natures was a daily task almost as daunting as feeding us! She was a master at goulash and cream of whatever leftovers were in the fridge! No matter the financial difficulties she had she always provided. Accountability in my mind was on

Barbara was always kind to me and my sister growing up. She cared for us and made a huge difference in my life. I am sorry that we lost touch but will always be grateful that I had the opportunity to know her. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.
