Barbara Goodrich Peters

Barbara Goodrich Peters, passed away at age 89 on December 15, 2019 in Portland, Oregon. She was surrounded by her family in love and support, and is survived by her 6 children, Eric, Carl, Robin, Paul, Alisyn, Kathryn and her 5 grandchildren. Barbara was born in Highland Park, MI and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1971. She was a speech pathologist and worked for Portland Public Schools before retiring. Barbara was an avid poet, whose works were published in various locally published books of poetry collections. She was a member for the Oregon Poetry Association for over 30 years and a member of The Pen Women, Portland Branch for many years. Barbara was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church for nearly 50 years, serving on the vestry and as choir member. She was best known and loved for her compassion, kindness, sense of humor, humbleness, intelligence and love for the spoken and written word.
