Bernardine was married 51 years to Don Niece, who preceded her in death on July 29, 2022. The pair leave behind 11 children and 26 grandchildren.
An avid gardener, she could often be found outside in her garden or helping a loved one with theirs.
A lifelong devout Catholic she led by example and modeled to many to fight the good fight and finish the race.
Bernardine passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on July 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation for Bernardine will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Zeller Chapel Of The Roses. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 375 NE Clackamas St., Portland, OR 97232. A committal service will occur Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 333 SW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97221.
