Bertram Ward Depew, 96, of Sherwood, passed away on January 16, 2018. Bert was born on June 24, 1921 in Sacramento, California to Frank Healy Depew and Agnes Ward and was raised with 3 siblings. After high school Bert graduated from the University of Santa Clara in 1948 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Upon graduating from college he worked for General Electric for 11 years and he started his own company called Heat Engineering and Supply Company in 1953. Bert was also a consulting engineer for companies in Ukraine and India.
Bert enjoyed fishing, poker, dancing and woodworking. He also served as the President of the Republican Club and of the Glendora, CA school board for several years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret; parents; and sisters Ethel and Louise and brother Al. He is survived by his wife Jane Depew; children, Suzanne, Elizabeth and Sallie; grandchild aKyle (Melissa); great grandchildren, Duncan and Kate.
