

Betty Jean Otto, age 77, died at Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital on April 15th, 2016. The cause was Respiratory failure. Born April 29th, 1938 in Duluth, Minnesota to Les and Bertha Duernberger. Betty attended Irvington grade school, Portland Christian and graduated from Parkrose High School in 1956. Betty was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and the Portland chapter of Soroptimist. Betty will be especially remembered for being a loving and caring mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was involved with the ladies group at Calvary Presbyterian and for many years spent time in activities with them. Betty also was a part of a special group of women who called themselves the “babes”. This special friendship with this group of ladies had a loving and enduring impact on her life. Survivors include her sons Wendell and wife Carrie of Sherwood and Brian and wife Jo of Vancouver. Betty also has 3 grandchildren, Nick, Tim, and Mikala. Betty was preceded in death by her son Kelvin, her sister Beverly and parents Les and Bertha Duernberger. Services will be held at 10:30, Saturday the 23rd of April at Finley Sunset Memorial.
