Beverly Dawn Gaard

February 1, 1931 – February 29, 2016

Beverly Dawn Gaard passed away peacefully at the age of 85 surrounded by her family. Beverly was born in Milwaukie, Wisconsin to Irvin and Margaret Gilge. She was married to Norton Gaard in 1953. A graduate of West Seattle High School, Beverly worked as a nurse at Virginia Mason Hospital and then as a homemaker. In 1960, Norton and Beverly moved to Portland, where they raised their family and lived for over 50 years.

Beverly had a joyous spirit for life that was enjoyed by all of her family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a love for laughter. She took great pride in her family and had a special admiration for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will forever remember her thoughtfulness, generosity and passionate commitment to her family.

Beverly spent her final years at Laurel Parc where she enjoyed making wonderful new friends.

Beverly is survived by her three daughters Sybil Nagata (spouse Jeff), Kirsty Dickinson (spouse Bruce) and Susie Parker (spouse Doug); seven grandchildren, Courtney Latham (spouse Erin), Stacy Latham, Scott Dickinson (spouse Anne), Katie Dickinson, Tiffany Parker, Tyler Parker (spouse Erica) and Conor Nagata; three great grandchildren, Gabe, Dylan and Delaney. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Norton L Gaard, we find peace in knowing they are together once again.

A celebration of life will be held at Rock Creek Country Club on Sunday March 6th at 2pm.
