Beverly Sue Norton was born on May 25, 1949 in Ogden, Utah and moved to with her family to Portland, Oregon in 1956. She was one of six children of Harold and Barbara Beck. Beverly was a graduate of Franklin High School and Portland Business College, and in later years a non-matriculating student at Concordia University. She married Stephen R. Norton on December 27, 1969 and resided in Portland, Oregon where they raised their two sons, Brent E. Norton and Daniel L. Norton. Beverly was an avid handwork hobbyist enjoying needlepoint and cross-stitch.
She passed away on August 13, 2026 while her son, Daniel, held her hand. Beverly is survived by her husband; their two sons; two grandchildren, Melina D. Norton and Kaleb R. Norton; and great granddaughter Alanna Lynn Monteiro. Here surviving siblings are Annette Suchy, Cathy Rasmussen, Deborah Yoder, and Elizabeth Markel.
Her memorial service will be at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 6700 NE 29th Ave., Portland, Oregon at 1 pm on September 2, 2026. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery.
