

Brian Allen Bentley, 65, of Milwaukie, Oregon, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 14, 2025. Born on December 11, 1959, in Dearborn, Michigan, he was the son of Ronald and Barbara (Holben) Bentley. Brian earned an Associate's degree in Drafting from Henry Ford Community College in 1989.
Brian dedicated his career to the Detroit automotive industry, holding roles at Fischer Body, American Motors Corporation, Integrated Computer Technologies (ICT), and Johnson Controls Incorporated (JCI). He was known for his strong technical expertise in plastics design, body-in-white, internal combustion engines, transmissions, chassis, vehicle interior and seating products.
Outside of work, Brian also enjoyed a wide range of hobbies. He maintained a lifelong passion for exercise and bodybuilding, embodying strength and discipline. An avid outdoorsman, he found profound peace and happiness hiking, camping, gardening, and simply being outside. He was a skilled woodworker and an exceptional handyman, able to design and build just about anything. He possessed a vibrant spirit, enjoying music, movies, and finding delight in dancing, laughter, and playfulness.
Brian is lovingly remembered by his children, Sarah and Brian (Carolina) Bentley; his devoted former wife, Linda Weiland, with whom he shared an enduring bond; and his adored grandchildren, Diego and Eva Bentley. He is also survived by his siblings, Ronda Jones, Rita (Gordon) Wesley, Renee Olson, and Ron (Sue) Bentley, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Ronald Bentley; brother, Thomas Bentley, and sister, Connie Sonberger.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Brian's honor.
