Brian Landreth, a proud lifelong Portlander and the heart of his family, passed away at home on May 27, 2026, surrounded by the people he loved most. His fight with cancer was brief, just one month, but he faced it with the same strength and heart that defined all 52 years of his life.
Born in 1974 to Rick and Linda Landreth, Brian was a son of the Rose City through and through. He loved Portland for all its character, its quirks, and its corners, and he never stopped finding new reasons to celebrate the community that shaped him and his hometown Trailblazers.
Brian had the largest heart of anyone you would ever know, and he dedicated his career to keeping others safe from harm. He was thoughtful and giving to a rare degree, with an intuition that let him sense what someone needed before they knew it themselves. Full of personality and fun, Brian was the glue of his family. He was the only person who could get away with a cutting comment about politics without causing an uproar — because he was Brian. Whether he was hosting a meal, sharing a cocktail, running a fiercely competitive game night, or planning a getaway down to the smallest detail, Brian lived to bring people together. He was simply the person you wanted in the room.
At the center of his life was his 28-year journey with his wife, Kim. They were true partners and best friends, and their unwavering love was the foundation of their welcoming home. His greatest pride was his daughters, Grace and Kyleigh. He beamed at Grace's recent high school graduation, shared in her search for the right colleges, and marveled at the young woman she has become. He cherished "Ky" for her huge personality, her sparkle, and her bravery.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Kim; his daughters, Grace and Kyleigh; his loving parents, Rick and Linda; his brother, Jeff Landreth; and a wide circle of friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Doug Landreth.
A Celebration of Life for Brian will be held in July; specific details and location will be shared with family and friends at a later date. In honor of his generous nature, donations may be made to The Intertwine Alliance.
