Sending condolences to family, friends and all those who will miss Brie.  We worked mostly on a few contracts --due to pandemic, we had not met in person only worked on line.  I always appreciated Brie's willingness to look over what I had put together and make it better--add the legal excellence to it.  We also shared a love of our pet cats as well.  I am in shock and sad about her passing and will donate to the Cat Adoption Team in her honor.

I was fortunate to have the chance to work with Brie and to get to know her over the last several years. She had a great sense of humor. She always worked very hard and had a great attitude. She was a kind and gentle soul. I miss her greatly. My deepest, heartfelt sympathies to her family.

Brie and I used to take long walks around PDX as friends, then years later we became a couple. I miss here greatly.

Brie and I worked together in Los Angeles and then stayed connected online after that. Although I didn’t always keep in touch directly I loved to see her updates, and I was always rooting for her. She deserved all of the happiness in the world. I  appreciated her more than she could know. I still can’t believe she is gone. 

I appreciated Brie’s cleaver humor and her love of cats and owls.  We would regularly exchange cat stories and cat pictures. 
She was a kind soul and I am so saddened by the news of her passing. My deepest condolences to her family.


Brie was my coworker and friend at PGE.  She is sorely missed by everyone in the office including me.  I really enjoyed her dry sense of humor and the cat-related NewYorker cartoons that she often shared with the office.  Brie was always friendly, and kind.  She was a great coworker, and she was really valued by her friends at work. We had a lot of laughs.  She worked really hard, and it made a difference in this world.  I enjoyed when she would tell us about being Canadian, hockey, as well as her obvious love of the band RUSH.  I only wish I could have gotten to know her better in the time we worked together. We loved her at work, and appreciated her so much.  My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.   

Brie and I met and became friends in the workplace.  We bonded through our love of cats and the friendship grew from there.  I will miss her dearly, but am very thankful for the time I was able to have her in my life.  Memories of her will live on in my heart forever.

First question she asked me was " Who's your favorite artist? "  Instantly intrigued by her.  We became instant friends for many years. She had this dry sense of humor that was filled with sarcasm and wit.  I cared for her in many ways and we developed a deep friendship. Long talks about music and art. ( especially RUSH ) Neil Peart meant a lot to her.  She was SMART. We'd play Jeopardy and she was much faster at answering the questions than me. I called her " The Quiet One " because she was shy and careful with her words. I loved her very much.  She loved little furry animals....Pusheens and a frog named Oscar. She took Oscar to the doctor or on a plane...it was very cute. She had an infectious laugh and I loved watching comedy shows with her. Serious movie buff....we watched all sorts of things from film noir like Alfred Hitchcock to Alien.  ( her cat was named Ripley from the movie ) Purple was her color. Always wore dresses...hated jeans....sunflowers were always packed in her little bag.  Powells books store was her jam....she loved that place. Even just to browse the aisles for an hour. Cats and crosswords. I am going to miss you, Brie. With all my heart.  Sail into the heavens and find peace. 

Brie and I became friends over Twitter in early 2020 and had been talking almost every day online ever since. We shared a lot in common, especially our love for animals. I loved talking to her about birds, cats, books, and music, as well as our Canadian backgrounds. Her sense of humour  and openness as a friend were always great highlights of our correspondences. I wish we could have met in person one day and visited Powells and gone out for cake. She was a wonderful friend.

I met Brie thirty years ago now -- when she was "the new girl" arriving into 8th grade at Mt. View Middle School.  We became friends first because we had to as we were partnered up in various classes.  But what was first forced upon us soon blossomed into an authentic friendship.  During those years of adolescence, we were best friends for a number of years.  After we lost touch during college, we renewed a friendship that continued on through social media and blogging websites over the last 20 years.

I can hardly believe she is gone.  The memory of her and her impact on me remains.  Every time I hear Journey -- a band she introduced me to back in high school -- I think about her.  I think of when we discovered Beavis and Butthead and imitated their laughs.  I remember the way she cursed, using those words as adjectives and adverbs.  There is her love of cats, art, owls, sunflowers, photography, the band Rush, hockey.  Her love-hate relationship with Portland.  Her sarcastic, dry sense of humor.  Her frequent observations of life, and life updates, on social media.

I will remember Brie for the rest of my life.  My condolences to all of her family and friends who are also missing this special person in their lives.

I am missing Brie already.  We met long ago on an Internet message board and we talked several times a week, if not every other day, for 23 years.  She was one of my oldest and dearest friends.  I admired her for her strength, intelligence, and wit.  To the family -- Brie was a beautiful soul and the world is poorer for having lost her.  My deepest condolences to you all at this time.  Much love.  <3
