She was the only child of Charles and Victoria Krueger and grew up in her mother’s childhood home in the Hawthorne district of SE Portland.
Anyone who knew Charla knows that independence and hard work were core values she lived by. Cars, her home, gardening, pets and antiquing were among her most passionate interests. She starting “earning her way” from an early age pumping gas in high school. Most of her adult years spent as an extruder operator at Tektronix in Beaverton. After an early retirement from Tek, she worked as a school bus driver for Laidlaw.
In her workplaces Charla developed a close circle of lifelong friends and chosen family. By no means a complete list, some of Char’s closest people who’ve survived her are Margie Davis, Doris Beck, Peggy OBrien, Monty Modrell , Many Riel, Doug and Candy Burke, Sue Teague, Lisa, Todd and Mike OBrien and Ava Shannon.
We will miss you, Cha Cha – we hope you are enjoying a drinkie poo with your parents in the great unknown!
