Chuck was an avid hunter and fisherman, a love he shared with both his sons. When he wasn’t doing either of those his favorite vacation was often on a set of skis. He was a member of Schnee Vogel Ski Club with whom he toured much of the worlds ski slopes. He loved to sing in the shower and sip on an occasional Manhatten although not at the same time. He was proud of his Portland upbringing, his military service during WWII and his family.
He is survived by his wife Mary, son’s Nick (Delyn) Kies, Phil (Terri) Kies and daughters, Caprice (Jim) Russel and Nano McCluskey. He was the proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren and a growing number of great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on January 18, 2016 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1623 NW 19th Ave., Portland, OR 97209.
