I’ve been really struggling with what to say.  Is it enough?  Is it not enough?  But whatever I say I want her to know I am forever grateful for the last 2 years she came back to Vancouver.   
Charlot became more of a mother to me.  But more importantly she became a friend.  
She was able to see her grandson Mikey graduate from high school, Jessica graduate from college and visit her brother Bill one last time. 
I will always remember the  many Hawaii christmases.   So many good times!  Turtles, malasadas, and hanging on any beach we could.   And she was a willing participant in all our shenanigans.  
You were funny, kind, generous to a fault, but determined and honestly a whole lot stubborn.  But always had a good heart.  
We had a strange mother daughter relationship.  You were always there when I needed a mom, but you were also there as a friend if that’s what I needed.  I know we didn’t always see eye to eye on things, and sometimes the things I did hurt you, and for that I’m truly sorry. 
There are so many things I wish I could say to you, so much time I wish I could have back, but that’s just not the way life works.  
I’m definitely going to miss your quirky sense of humor, your unconditional love, and the new tradition we started when you moved back to Vancouver 2 years ago.  Sunday lunch.  
Thank you for being such a great mom to my husband and loving my children, your grandchildren, unconditionally.  We miss you so much.  You will never be forgotten.  I love you too Charlot.

I'm so sorry to hear about Charlotte. I used to sew with her in Kailua Kona. We made many quilts and dresses for children to donate. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

A kind and fun loving woman...may you be at peace....

So many special memories visiting Charlot in Hawaii. Visiting her and her  dogs or meeting at a restaurant for dinner. Charlot always had a smile and open arms. 
The memory that I will hold closest is the cruise that Charlot, Donna and I took to the Coast of Norway my father’s birthplace. It was probably my last time to visit Norway and to be able to share it with them was very special.
