Chong-Nam Francis Wilson

With deepest sorrow, we announce that Chong-Nam Francis Wilson, our most beloved husband, son, brother, nephew, and a dear friend passed on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Even though he was only 34 years old, Francis affected many people in his lifetime and his love and enduring quest to make others smile will not be forgotten.

Those who knew Francis, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Francis will be missed everyday by his Father, TaeSan Wilson, his Mother, HyoSin, brothers CJ and Phil, his loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many, many great friends.

He was a deeply devoted and committed husband to his wife, Judy. She was the love of his life, and their love brought laughter and light to their friends, family, and each other.

Francis was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. He studied Economics at the University of Oregon and was a manager at the Willamette UPS Center. He loved UPS and his co-workers, and he worked hard – sometimes too hard.

Francis was committed to friendship. His childhood, college, and work friendships were cherished to his very last days. He was often the peacemaker that was the first to work and last to rest. Francis’s friends will always remember the way he made everyone smile when he greeted them and the way he constantly made sure everyone around him was happy and having a good time.

Until June 2021, Francis remained the same, solidly-grounded and engaged person he had been throughout his entire life. But depression is a tragic illness. His decision to take his own life – a life of so much accomplishment and promise – was completely unexpected and shocked everyone who knew him. Since Francis’s death, many have told us about how special he was and how fortunate they were to have known him.

Life is too short for regrets. Seek out and ask for help when you feel sad. Your friends and family are here for you. Our hearts are aching. We miss Francis so very much. You left us too soon. Rest in peace sweet, sweet man.

A memorial service will be held at 12pm on July 3rd at Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary.
