

Born on February 26, 1943, in Seoul, Korea, Choon was the daughter of Jae Heung Lee (이재흥) and Chu Re Kim (김처례). She was raised in Seoul alongside her cousin, Chong Kim, who was like a younger sister to her. Choon graduated from SangMyung Women’s High School and later met her husband, Young Hyun Oh (오영현), through an introduction by her manager while working at a government office.
Choon and Young got married on September 27, 1965, and began their life together in Seoul, where they owned and operated DaeHan Ice Company. They were blessed with four children: Anna (Eunkyung, 은경), Tracy (Eunshil, 은실), Sarah (Eunjoo, 은주), and Michael (Chihong, 지홍). In 1985, the family immigrated to Portland, Oregon, where Choon and her husband owned J&T Market from 1987 until their retirement in 2008.
Choon was devoted to her family and found joy in hosting large family gatherings, where she lovingly cooked and cared for her loved ones. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and selflessness, often putting the needs of others before her own. Choon also enjoyed traveling with her family, knitting, and gardening. A faithful Christian, she was an active member of Hope Korean Presbyterian Church, where she loved to serve and worship.
Choon was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband, Young Hyun Oh, her children: Anna(Eunkyung), Tracy(Eunshil), Sarah(Eunjoo), and Michael(Chihong), as well as her seven cherished grandchildren: Jacob (Joonwon), Noah (Jiwon), Leah (Jiae), Kailey (Haewon), Chloe (Chiyon), Caleb (Chisung), and Joshua (Heesung).
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home (11801 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Portland, OR 97086), with a visitation from 1-2 PM. A burial service will follow at 3 PM. A luncheon will be held afterward at Kumi Buffet (11358 SE 82nd Ave, Ste 401, Happy Valley, OR 97086).
