Born January 6, 1915 in Joliet, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Rose Koleto. She grew up in various places in the Midwest during the Great Depression, and finally settled in Oregon. She spent 20 years in Sand Lake where she owned and operated Cooper's Corner Grocery & Gas Station, before finally settling in Portland in 1983. She married Joseph Cooper and together they had one daughter, Frances.
Some of her favorite pastimes were gardening, finding and collecting stones and rocks, and taking care of her beloved dogs.
She is survived by her grandchildren, John Opperud, Cris Opperud, and Dawn Barberis, as well as 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph and her daughter, Frances.
Funeral Services will be private.
