Cleopha “Cleo” Keller Moore, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, at the age of 96. Cleo was born on November 26, 1928, in Glencross, South Dakota, to Magdelena and John Keller. She was raised on the family farm in Long Prairie, Minnesota, where she learned the values of hard work, dedication, and kindness that would shape her throughout her life.
Cleo met the love of her life, Kenneth J. Moore, at a dance, and they were married on May 4, 1948. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and shared accomplishments. Cleo was a co-owner of American Bindery with her husband and also ran her own house cleaning business. In addition to her professional work, she was deeply committed to helping others, volunteering her time at Shepherd’s Door Women’s Shelter, St. Therese Catholic School, and Parkrose School District, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and generosity. She was also a member of Crossroads Christian Church in Portland, Oregon.
Cleo had many talents and hobbies. She was an avid gardener, seamstress, and talented quilter, often creating beautiful crafts, baked goods, and floral arrangements from her garden. As a dedicated teacher to her grandchildren, she instilled in them a love of creativity and hard work. Her meticulous nature and determination were evident in everything she did, bringing joy to those around her through her artistry and kindness. She cherished her family above all.
Cleo is survived by her children, Colette (Dave), Patti, Tom, Paula (Larry), Kevin (Kim), and Monica (Czech); 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire and comfort those whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Cleo’s memory to either one of her favorite charities, Shepherd's Door, at https://portlandrescuemission.org/# or Children International, at https://www.children.org/make-a-difference/donate .
