Clifford was born in La Grande, OR to Alvah and Mildred Crowley. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served on a PT Boat in the South Pacific during WWII, afterwhich he went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad in La Grande. He later retired from Rhodia Chemical in Portland, where he worked as a lab technician.
Cliffored enjoyed the mountains and beach, playing golf, fly-fishing, and taking photographs.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a kind and loving husband and father.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm, Monday, January 10, 2011 in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Willamette National Cemetery. Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Waunita; children, Michael and Kathleen; grandaughter, April; and great-granddaughters, Amber, Kayla, and Starr.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Disabled American Veterans.
