Constance W. Baker

After graduating from high school she worked at Lippmann Wolf department store as an elevator operator; she worked as a housekeeper for Holgate Manor and at “Fred’s Place” as a waitress.

For a period of time she attended Mallory Avenue Christian Church . She was Baptized on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, WA. by Rev. Samuel R. King, Associate Minister at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Portland, OR.

On October 3, 1952 Constance married James Herron, to this union two (2) children were born, Ricky and Ramon Herron. Connie and Fredrick Baker were married on January 6, 1966 two (2) children were born to this union also, Sherell and Fredrick A. Baker.

Connie’s hobbies included interior decorating, gardening, embroidery and rug making. Her favorite movies were any movie that Clint Eastwood happened to be in. Favorite singers: Marvin Gay, Teddy Pendergrass, Al Green and Michael McDonald.

Connie had a loving personality and, she would go the second mile for anyone who needed help. She was an elegant lady who dressed the part at all times, her hair had to be perfect, especially her eye brows. She also had a great sense of humor. Connie was a shining star who brightened up the night.

Connie is preceded in death by Frederick Baker (husband), Ricky Herron (son) and Ruby Kent (mother).

She leaves to mourn her passing: Daughter, Sherell (Dante); Son, Ramon Herron (Ledora) Tacoma, WA; Son, Frederick Arness Baker (Jessica) Portland, OR. Siblings: Sisters, Shirlene McCoy (George), Fairfield, CA. Jacqualine Gladman (Don) Vancouver WA; Brother, Leo Turner, Portland, OR. Twelve (12) Grand Children; Dominique Presley, Tyniqua Maggitt, Fudarrell Maggitt, Briana Baker, Arnisha Baker, Fredrick Baker, Passionate Baker, Brittany Moss, Jamie Rouse, Makyla Allen, Malachi Allen, Xavier Allen. Four (4) Great-Grand Children; Maylaya Presley, Demetrius Rutherford, Tacoma WA. Jordyn Howard Kendall Herring, Portland, OR.
