

Darlene A Boswell (DesJardins), 88, of Portland, OR, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2015, surrounded by family. She was born in Felton, MN, graduated from Felton High School, and left the cold winters of Minnesota for Portland, OR shortly after high school. She married Vance R Boswell of Beaverton, OR in 1949. They were married for 36 years and raised two children in Beaverton. Darlene enjoyed painting, poetry, baking, shoes, shopping, dancing, and seeing her grandchildren and great grandchild. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark V and Barbara A Boswell, of Louisville, KY and her son and daughter-in-law, Gary R Boswell and Tyrrell Sweetman of Portland, OR, grandchildren, Jonathan V Boswell, Cleveland, OH, Erin R Boswell, New York, NY, and Brittany A Campbell, Creswell, OR, great grandchild, Madisan J Campbell, Creswell, OR, sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Vern Miller, of Fargo, ND, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance R Boswell in 1985, her parents Earnest J and Regina DesJardins, brothers and sisters Marcel DesJardins, George DesJardins, Eugene DesJardins, LaVonne Kaspari, Clara Anderson, Aaron DesJardins, Paul DesJardins, and her good friend, Larry Pohl. Thank you to Father John, the residents and staff of the Terrace and the Intermediate Care Facility at Laurelhurst Village, and Providence Hospice. Friends are welcome to join the family for the committal of Darlene’s ashes at Finley-Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 6801 SW Sunset Highway, Portland, OR 97225, on September 17, 2015 at 1:30 pm.
