Phyllis "Darlene" (Ralston) Rice, mother, born January 26th, 1945 in Umatilla County, Oregon to Dora Fern (Smith) Ralston and David Carl Ralston, passed away on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 in Portland, Oregon.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Marvin Rice (married June 23rd, 1963); her children, Lisa, Rochelle, Richard, Anthony, and Sarah; her four grandchildren, Jacob, Serena, Zachary, and Madison; friends and family.
Darlene grew up on a farm and as an expert seamstress she threaded clothing for warmth and experience. Her lifelong passion was her family, as evidenced by their abundant love, empathy, and patience. She loved birds, gardening, roses, watermelons, and trees.
A Celebration of Life is to be held at Gateway Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023.
A committal service for Darlene will be held the same day at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon. Service details can be viewed below.
