Darlene Salazar

Darlene Joan Salazar passed away on May 31, 2015 at the age of 80 in Portland, OR. She was born on June 21, 1934 in Spokane, WA to parents Howard and Hazel Walker, one of 2 girls. She moved with her family as a teenager to Portland, OR, and graduated from Lincoln High School.

On May 14, 1953, Darlene married Doniscio Salazar, and together they raised three children: Lonnie, Lori, and David. Darlene was a stay at home mother and very involved with her children’s lives. She was there for every game or activity they had growing up, and loved them dearly. She was delighted when she could expand that love to include her grandchildren. Though she was a quiet, reserved woman, she had a big heart. She always took care of others before herself, and was a sweet and caring woman. She loved to spend her time gardening or just enjoying a

walk with friends.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Don Salazar; children Lonnie Broadwater, Lori McKinney, and David Salazar; grandchildren Jennifer Guldenzopf, Ashton Woodard, Taylor Woodard, Alex Salazar, and Mario Salazar; and great-grandson Axel Zerfing.

She will be missed dearly by all.
