Darrell passed peacefully after battling cancer. He was born July 12, 1933 in Papillion, Neb. to Harry T. and Blanche L. Burgen. Darrell moved to Portland in 1942 and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1952. Served in the Army at the time of the Korean War, graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Anthropology, then worked for the state of Oregon in Human Resources and ended his working career with the U.S. Post Office. Darrell is survived by his sister, Nancy L. McKittrick (Jim) and numerous nephews and nieces. He will be missed by many friends and neighbors. On his request, no memorial services will be held.
