David Arthur Dahlen, affectionately known as Dave, passed away at the age of 55 on May 13, 2025, in Portland, OR. Dave was a proud Portland native, born on September 21, 1969, to parents Kay and David (Dave) Allen Dahlen.
He attended David Douglas High School and later enrolled at AIM. After earning his GED, he went on to become the owner of a successful construction company, further perfecting his artistic carpentry skills. Dave’s personal craftsmanship likely touched thousands of homes and businesses across the greater Multnomah County area.
While married to Kristi Weise (1996–2002), he had two children: a son, David Michael Dahlen (28), and a daughter, Kirsten Dahlen (26). Dave valued his kids and family above all else, with his freedom and motorcycles a close second.
He was loved by many family and friends, always known for cheering people up with his quick wit, an incredible talent for soothing crying babies and entertaining fussy toddlers, and of course, his love of motorcycles — especially Harley-Davidsons.
A man always willing to lend a helping hand, Dave often bounced from place to place, dropping everything to answer a call from his loved ones. He was either working, riding a motorcycle, or helping someone out. His life’s mantra was to “help everyone live better.” His family and friends loved him for the stubborn, hilarious charmer that he was. Dave left this world with no regrets — always living true to himself and giving more than he had to the people he loved. He did what mattered: loving and supporting others.
Dave is survived by his father, three sisters, and two children. The family held a private viewing on May 16, 2025, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
