Deborah Ann (Toy) Goforth

Deborah Ann Goforth was born in Portland, Oregon on March 20, 1951 to Share Lun and Geneva Ann (Ennis) Toy, and passed away in Clackamas, Oregon on August 9, 2026 at the age of 75. She had lived her entire life in the Portland area.

Debbie was a 1969 graduate of Franklin High School. In October 1976, Deborah and Lawrence Goforth were married in the Portland home that Larry had grown up in, and she was a homemaker for many years until their children were grown. She then worked as a lab tech creating contact lenses before joining the staff of Clackamas Community College as a cashier in the campus bookstore, a position she very much enjoyed for its social aspects.

She enjoyed gardening (flowers and vegetables in raised beds), was an accomplished seamstress, and loved fishing, particularly saltwater fishing for halibut and salmon in the San Juan Islands and around Vancouver Island. She kept a tidy house, even with her love of cats and dogs. Debbie was a longtime blood donor and avid 24 Hour Fitness member (where she enjoyed their “Combat Workout”) and liked to collect rocks and patches for her backpack on family trips.

Mrs. Goforth was preceded in death by her sister Judy Kempton and her brother Mike Riggs.

She will be remembered and missed by her husband of nearly 50 years, Lawrence Goforth; their children William Andrew Goforth and wife Shanan and Sarah Ann Goforth; grandchildren Shambre, Sydney, Kalle, and Luukas and great-grandchildren Ezekiel and Sorelle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Deborah’s life will be celebrated in private services. She will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to either the ALS Association, the Red Cross, or to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
