Debra Jeanne Sanchez

It is with heavy hearts that the Sanchez/Newman families announce the passing of Debra Jeanne Sanchez, who left us on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 26, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with lupus and other autoimmune health issues that she faced throughout her adult life.

Born as the 10th of 11 children and the youngest daughter, Debra brought a unique light and love to our family. Despite the many health challenges she endured, including years on dialysis before receiving a kidney transplant in October 2013, she met life with resilience and a remarkable capacity to connect with others. Her journey was marked by countless surgeries and hospital stays, yet her spirit remained unbroken, always shining through in her warmth and kindness.

Debra was deeply loved and admired for her ability to extend love to others, even in her most difficult moments. She had an extraordinary gift for making those around her feel seen and cherished, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Darrell Newman; her parents, Fred and Ann Marie; seven brothers, Fred, Mark, Joseph, Thomas, Bradley, Alan, Michael; and one sister, Linda. She now joins her two older sisters, Jeanne and Sheryl, who preceded her in death in 2006 and 2010, respectively.

We will remember Debra not only for the trials she faced with grace but for the profound love and compassion she shared so generously with the world.

Celebration of Life arrangements will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Donate Life Northwest, in honor of her memory.

She will be forever missed and always in our hearts.
