Dennis Eugene Murdock, age 79, of Portland, OR passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020. Dennis was born in Ogden, UT to Parley and Uvada Murdock.
Dennis graduated from Grangeville High School in 1959 in Grangeville, ID. After high school Dennis joined the Carpenters Union and married his high-school sweetheart, Gay McIntire. In 1964, Dennis moved his small family to Portland, OR where the carpentry business was booming. Dennis and his family thrived in Oregon.
An avid outdoors man, Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, boating, water skiing, riding his quad, and camping with his family. Later in life Dennis and Gay took up snow skiing. They purchased an RV and traveled around Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Wyoming until Gay’s passing in 2013.

Dennis was a skilled carpenter. Over the years he worked for several prominent contracting firms in the Portland area including Todd, Hoffman, DPR, and others. In October of 2003 he retired from Schommer and Sons. Dennis was a life long member of the Carpenters Union and had 60 years vested with them at his passing.
Dennis firmly believed in learning new skills. He was very active in training programs sponsored by the Willamette Carpenters Union and the Associated General Contractors of America. His commitment to continuing his training throughout his career is why we are asking that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Willamette Carpenters Training Center in his name.
Checks should be made out to Willamette Carpenters Training Center and mailed to: Willamettte Carpenters Training Center 4222 NE 158th Ave. Portland, OR 97230 Attn: Jeff Jewell

Cyndi, myself and her mom and Dad went crabbing together. I didn’t know that the crabs would scream when you threw them in boiling water, so I started crying😂 poor Dennis didn’t know whether to laugh or comfort me. I think laughing won out😂😂 Many wonderful memories❤️
