Canada and Florence Leona (deNeui) Radke of Stafford, Oregon.
Dennis served our country in the Air Force from 1962-1968 as a specialist in Communication
and Administration. He was stationed at RAF Croughton Air Force Base in Northamptonshire
UK and at the Sundance Air Force Radar Station located near Sundance Wyoming. His rank
was SSGT.
It was either 1976 or 1977 when he began work as a 911 dispatcher at C-COM in Oregon City
for Clackamas County Fire Department. Many appreciated “Fireplace Dennis” for his calm
voice and clear communication skills. He retired from C-COM sometime around 2000 but
C-COM remained a large part of his life. Whenever he saw any Clackamas Fire personnel out
and about in the community, he would get their attention and flash a green sign that said,
“Does C-COM Know Where You Are?”
On the flip side of that sign was a British flag. The rim around Dennis’ license plate says, “I’d
Rather Be In London.” Dennis loved the time he was able to spend in the UK and had many
friends across the pond.
Dennis never married. Nevertheless, he was considered a beloved part of many of our
families.
Dennis died on March 13, 2019 trusting in Christ Jesus as his only Savior from sin and all of
its eternal punishment. God promises that Dennis is now in heaven.
Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has
eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” John 5:24
To God be the Glory!
