Diane was born on February 24, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to Daniel and Geraldine Kozlowski. As a young girl, she moved with her mother and sister to Portland, Oregon, settling in Northeast Portland. She attended local schools and was a proud student of Cleveland High School.
In 1957, Diane married Chuck Krieger, and together they were blessed with three sons. After their divorce in 1969, Diane worked as a waitress before becoming a well-known and respected bartender and manager in the North Portland area.
In 1980, Diane married Gary D. Green, with whom she shared over 40 wonderful years of marriage. She retired from the restaurant industry in 2006.
Diane was a creative and vibrant soul who loved working with stained glass and crocheting. She enjoyed traveling—especially to the Oregon Coast and Las Vegas—and treasured her many adventures with family and friends. She took great pride in her Polish heritage and loved sharing her stories with others. Gardening was another of her passions, and she found peace and joy in tending to her yard.
Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary (2023), and her son, Dean (2022).
She is survived by her sister, Geraldine (Sissy); sons Chuck and Gregg; daughter-in-law Cathy; grandchildren Deanna, Chrystal, Jeremy, David, and Greggory; and ten great-grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by her dear friends Vivian, Charlie, Renata, and Marie, along with the many others whose lives she touched over the years.
Diane’s light, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Mom, your memory and love will be in our hearts forever.
