Dixie Lee Alt

Dixie Lee Alt, a long-time resident of Milwaukie, Oregon died Tuesday the 17th of May, while surrounded by family. She was the first of two children born to Howard and Lulu Davidson in Dodge City, Kansas. She moved with her family, including her younger sister Donna, to Portland in 1936 where she attended Portland Public Schools and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1947. In 1949 Dixie married Burnell Carlson, and had two daughters, Linda and Shellie. Dixie married Ray Alt in 1968. Shortly after, they moved to Hawaii where they lived for several years. After returning to Oregon, they resided in Milwaukie for 39 years.

Although she never lost her love for Hawaii, Dixie enjoyed many happy years traveling to Hammond to help Ray with their charter business. She also enjoyed spending time on her deck, cooking special meals, spending time with family, and shopping.

Dixie is survived by her husband Ray, her sister Donna, daughters Linda and Shellie, step-daughters Linda, Evy, and Marylou, 18 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren, who will miss and think of her often. She will forever be in our hearts, Aloha… For Now.
