

Don attended Portsmouth Grade School and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He proudly served as a Quartermaster in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1966. On November 30, 1960, he married the love of his life, Patsy Viator, in Vancouver, Washington. Their love story began when they met in high school in 1958 and blossomed into a devoted marriage of 65 years.
Don dedicated 30 years of service to the Housing Authority of Portland before retiring at the age of 51. A man of deep faith, he faithfully served as an elder at St. Johns Christian Church and lived his life guided by his love for the Lord and his family.
He found joy in hunting, fishing, and classic cars. Don will be remembered for his gentle and kind nature, his wonderful sense of humor, and his unwavering values of honesty and hard work. He touched many lives through his compassion, integrity, and steadfast devotion to those he loved.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Patsy Slusher; his sons, Darren Slusher and James Slusher; his granddaughter, Alanna Byrd; and his great-grandchildren, Colvin Byrd and Dacey Byrd.
His legacy of faith, love, kindness, and dedication to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
