Donald George Lee, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Tigard, Oregon, on September 24, 2026, while under hospice care from complications related to kidney failure. Donald was born on October 12, 1948, in Portland, Oregon, to George and Diana Lee. He grew up alongside four siblings, with a love for sports and a devotion to God.
Donald graduated from Cleveland High School and went on to serve his country during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he married May, his wife of 54 years, and completed his college education at Portland State University.
Don worked for the IRS for 35 years before retiring in 2009. When he wasn’t working, he could often be found playing tennis, softball, bowling, or pickleball. He also enjoyed playing board and party games with friends and family.
Don will always be remembered as the supportive parent cheering from the sidelines at his children’s games and recitals—even when that support included enthusiastic calls to “run faster…hit the ball harder…go, go, go!” His faith was an important part of his life, and he served faithfully as a church elder and Sunday School teacher, as well as on various church committees.
Don’s beloved daughter-in-law, Deanna, preceded him in death on September 15, 2026. He is survived by his wife, May; son Brian and Leah Lee, and granddaughter Remi Burch; son Brandon, and grandchildren Tyger, Kyrie, Meryk, and Zhavya; son Aaron and Marisa Lee, and grandchildren Kenzo and Taya; as well as his siblings, Gloria Lee Grove, Arnold Lee, Reynold Lee, and Harold Lee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lake Oswego, Oregon, group of BSF International.
