Don was known for the many trips he took in pursuing his interest and passion in the shooting sports especially with junior shooting athletes. He kept meticulous notes on each trip and maintained several book logs to record each trip. He was always ready to show his books and talk about each trip. Don spent his life pursuing his passion in shooting and was active internationally with the Masters Games for decades. Don was especially passionate about helping youth and paralympic shooters reach their goals. As a result of his participation with his shooting sports, he received many medals and also had an active role in Oregon National Guard shooting program. He retired from the National Guard with 24 years of service as a SFC E-7.
