

Dorothy Bumala, passed away on October 24, 2013. Dorothy will be remembered for her years of service as the Assistant Principal of Gresham Union High School District. Dorothy loved her job and the parents of her students. Dorothy was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on October 16, 1916 to Aurthur and Alva Griffin. She moved to the United States at a young age and was 12 years old when she started going to St. Mark's Parish. Dorothy married Eino Bumala on September 17, 1944.
Before going into the education department, Dorothy was an Industrial Engineer efficiency expert. Some of her students may have thought of her as cold hearted, but inside, she was a very concerned and warm hearted person. Dorothy loved to golf and is on record for a hole-in-one girl. She was a Bridge Player and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Dorothy is survived by a nephew, Tom (Christina) Bumala of Lake Forest Park, Washington and many friends.
